From Annapolis Maryland to Atlanta Georgia

⚙️ My Journey: From Annapolis to Atlanta

I spent the first 28 years of my life in Annapolis, Maryland, developing a passion for working with my hands. My early years were spent on Legos, BMX bikes, scooters, and dirt bikes—much to my parents’ dismay when I’d take apart the lawnmower just to see how it worked (though I always put it back together).

My professional experience started at 15 as an apprentice for a construction company, and I later spent years wrenching on cars and scooters. My true passion was European cars, and I even started my own German car repair business for a short time. However, I eventually decided I needed a less messy career. Perpetual grease under my nails wasn’t making dating any easier!

🏢 The Rise in Property Engineering

I returned to construction, which quickly led to a role in the maintenance department National Harbor in Maryland just outside of Washington DC, maintaining Class A office buildings. This is where I found my footing. My Chief Engineer (James) saw my eagerness and took me under his wing however at one point my work ethic caught the eye of upper management of the third party we worked for. They transferred me to the US Treasury building in Hyattsville Maryland. A much older building with strict security made work difficult and time consuming.

My career trajectory took off when my former boss (James), a mentor and great friend, hired me as his Assistant Director of Engineering for Douglas Development in Washington D.C. Managing nearly 11 million square feet of space a lot of it with government Tenants like the FBI, USCIS and others. It was intense—and it felt like the “Wild West” at times—but I thrived. I was willing to do whatever it took, which led the owner to eventually promote me to my boss’s Director of Engineering role. (Thanks, James, I wouldn’t be here without you!)

Seeking a more stable environment, I moved on to Lerner, after a recruiter looking to fill a position found me through James. Soon thereafter I became the Operations Manager for three million square feet of trophy Class A office space in Tysons Corner Virginia nearby to the CIA headquarters. Working for Mark Lerner (owner of the Washington Nationals) set an incredibly high bar for quality that became ingrained in my work ethic.

🚀 Launching My Own Business

In October 2017, I moved to Atlanta for a relationship and although that did not work out, I found my now Wife. With the move to Atlanta, I decided to start working for myself. I leveraged my hands-on knowledge and attention to detail (my inner OCD is great for this work!) to launch a home repair service via TaskRabbit. I quickly found my niche in everything from mounting TVs and repairing drywall to changing faucets and light fixtures.

After accumulating over 450 five-star reviews, I knew it was time to scale. I rebranded the business and started building the brand from the ground up. In 2022, I hired my first employee, proving the concept was viable. Today, we have a much larger team and are focused on growth. Having worked for the best and the worst, my current mission is to be the best possible leader—paying above-standard rates so my team can enjoy their lives outside of work.

🧘‍♂️ Outside of Work

In my downtime, I enjoy hanging out with my wife and our three dogs (mostly harassing them), league bowling, trying out new beers, checking out new restaurants, and traveling often to Florida and other destinations. Below you’ll see me in Colombia for my wife’s cousins wedding, on a hike in Northern GA, in Hawaii at a blow hole, on a sail boat in Hawaii, some candid photo in Hawaii, Enjoying the sunset at Brasstown Bald in Northern GA and enjoying a jazz night at the High Museum here in Atlanta.
