Bella, VP of Vibe and Immediate Action
Bella, a seventy pound Pitbull rescued from Atlanta’s west side Lifeline shelter in March of 2018 joined the company with the laser focus of a CEO, ran the front office of YourHandymanAtlanta. Brendon, the owner, wisely gave her the title of Vice President of Vibe and Immediate Action, knowing her sheer presence ensured quality control and swift resolutions.
Bella’s marketing was less about features and more about emotional compelling. Her campaign posters, which she insisted on supervising, carried the concise slogan: “YourHandymanAtlanta: We Do it right so you don’t have to do it twice.” Customers felt profoundly compelled to choose them, driven by a deep-seated need for Bella’s approval.
Her customer service was unparalleled in its intensity. One Tuesday, the phone rang—a Mr. Smith complaining that a newly installed kitchen island was wobbly.
Bella answered, the phone nestled securely between her jaw and shoulder. She listened, her breathing instantly slowing to an ominous, deliberate pace. Exaggerated sighing noise.
Mr. Smith, hearing this deep, disappointed sound, immediately apologized for even bothering her.
Bella applied her executive protocol: She let out a single, sharp bark of professional offense (How dare that island wobble?) then dropped the receiver just long enough to perform an enthusiastic, full-body wiggle, signifying her unwavering commitment to his satisfaction.
Finally, she nudged the phone toward Brendon. “Brendon!” she demanded, her voice clear. “Smith. Island. Go now. Bring my tennis ball. They seem stressed.”
Mr. Smith hung up feeling mystified but completely certain help was already on the way. Within minutes, Brendon was pulling up, ready to fix the island and restore order to Bella’s meticulously managed universe. Bella’s job was simple: if something was broken, she would judge it until a human fixed it immediately.
